A "Type Writer Society"?
The ABQwerty Type Writer Society knows that typewriters offer a unique, distraction-free writing experience for creatives of all ages and can serve as a gateway in the discovery of literacy and the literary arts.
We call ourselves a “Type Writer Society” for three specific reasons:
Type
We facilitate collectors in repairing and maintaining classic writing machines—typewriters.
Writer
We use typewriters in creative expression, and we offer education for those who wish to do the same.
Society
We gather (with typewriters!) in face-to-face settings such as Type-In events and workshops, with the intent of sharing our enthusiasm for these machines with other creatives both in our community and online.
Whether you are interested in the mechanics of typewriters, their use to wrangle words and create art, or are simply curious about them, the ABQwerty Type Writer Society is an informal group dedicated both.
