Hey there, Typers!
This note comes to you from ABQwety Type Writer Society’s new digital digs. We are now on Substack, an online platform from which we will send you emails with updates on Society events, how you can be involved, and more.
If you aren’t familiar with Substack, no worries, this post is a great introduction on how to navigate this space and interact with us here (and other Substacks, too, if you wish). Also, our emails will come straight to your inbox, just like this one did.
A few things to know and what you can expect
If you are receiving this via email, you are on the list. No further action from you is needed. You are all set.
We promise to not inundate your email inbox, but should you ever decide to declutter your digital space and choose to unsubscribe, we completely understand. There’s no hard feelings and you can return whenever you’d like.
If you don’t want to interact on the Substack platform, you don’t have to. It’s totally optional. If you reply to this email, we’ll get it and can respond via email, too!
In the coming months and beyond, as the Society grows, we plan to host events for all levels of typewriter enthusiasts. Whether you are here because you love the mechanics of the machine, enjoy creating with them, or want to learn more about either (or both!), we aspire to help you do just that.
Upcoming events
You’re invited!
We are hosting two public Type-Ins very soon. Mark your calendars!
This Saturday, September 9th from noon to 4 pm at the Special Collections Library (423 Central Avenue NE, Albuquerque). Look forward to exciting writing prompts to engage your inner creative writer. Letter-writing supplies and stationery will also be provided, so bring some postal addresses for your own typewritten letters!
Saturday, October 14th at the Loma Colorado Main Library (755 Loma Colorado Boulevard NE, Rio Rancho). More details coming soon.
If you can’t make it to either event, don’t worry, there will be plenty more opportunities ahead.
-Woz and the ABQwerty Type Writer Society
PS. We would love to know more about our community. Feel free to leave a comment or simply reply to this email with one fun fact (typewriter related or not!) about YOU.
Bravo!
I was really excited to see that I am finally in touch with the typewriter guys! I just had surgery, so I probably can’t come to the September 9 event; looking forward to October…
